1. Construction & Craftsmanship
Built in America, the way fine leather furniture should be
Every Olde Forge Tannery piece is hand-built in the United States by skilled craftsmen. We don't mass-produce to a warehouse forecast — each piece is made to order, to your chosen frame, configuration, leather, and color.
The frame: built to outlast the room around it
The foundation of any sofa is its frame, and ours are made to last a lifetime.
Kiln-dried hardwoods and engineered hardwood, hand-selected for strength and stability. Kiln-drying removes the moisture that causes lesser frames to warp, crack, and creak over time.
Corner-blocked and reinforced at every major stress point, so the frame holds its shape and its silhouette for decades.
Assembled by craftsmen, not stapled together on an automated line.
The suspension: engineered comfort that never needs retying
Traditional 8-way hand-tied springs are often held up as the gold standard — but they're labor-intensive, vary from craftsman to craftsman, and can eventually require retying. We use an advanced tempered-steel spring suspension system that delivers even weight distribution, eliminates pressure points, and holds its support without maintenance or retying for the life of the piece. The result is consistent comfort in every seat, every time.
The leather: 100% top-grain, everywhere it counts
We use only genuine top-grain leather — never bonded leather, never polyurethane, never faux. Hides are sourced from premium tanneries and finished to our standards. And we upholster in leather everywhere: not just where you sit and touch, but across the whole piece.
We offer three families of leather so you can match the hide to how the room is actually used:
Protected (pigmented): A durable finished topcoat that resists stains and wear. The right choice for busy households, children, and pets.
Semi-aniline: A balance of natural character and everyday durability — a light protective finish over a more natural hide.
Pure aniline: The most natural, supple, character-rich leather, with the hide's authentic markings on full display. Best suited to lower-traffic rooms where its beauty can be appreciated.
Variations in shade, texture, and natural markings aren't flaws — they're the signature of authentic, full-character leather.
The cushions: comfort that keeps its shape
Seat cushions are built on a high-density polyurethane foam core wrapped in soft polyester fiber for a seat that's supportive yet inviting and holds its shape over years of use. For clients who prefer a softer, more luxurious sink, we offer down-and-feather blends sealed in anti-leak envelopes — the plush feel of down, without the leakage and constant re-fluffing.

What the leather warranty means
Under normal use and proper care, the leather will not harden, will not transfer color, and will not tear; the finish will not peel. Normal wrinkles from stretching, and natural variation in shade and texture, are inherent qualities of fine leather and are not considered defects.
Caring for your furniture
To preserve the natural beauty of your leather and keep your warranty in force, avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight and keep it away from harsh chemicals and improper cleaning products.
What's not covered
This warranty does not cover damage from neglect, abuse, or misuse; rental or commercial use; extremes of temperature or humidity; chemical treatments or improper cleaning; or normal wear consistent with everyday use. The warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable. Olde Forge Tannery's liability is limited to repairing or replacing, at our discretion, any part found defective in material or workmanship, and in no event exceeds the original purchase price.
How to file a claim — simple and handled for you
All warranty claims are made through the authorized retailer where your furniture was purchased. Your retailer knows your order, submits the claim, and coordinates the repair or replacement on your behalf — so you have a single, familiar point of contact.
Contact your retailer — the showroom or dealer where you purchased your furniture — with your proof of purchase and a description (and photos, where possible) of the issue.
Your retailer handles it from there, processing the claim and arranging the repair or replacement.
No chasing a factory or a third party. That's the advantage of buying from a curated Olde Forge Tannery retailer.
